The four AUTODYSSEY tees lined up on a workbench beside an open black box

The T-Shirt Club · Monthly

A shirt arrives. You did nothing. This is the entire idea.

Once a month, a black box with a new AUTODYSSEY tee inside turns up at your door like a small, well-dressed rumor.

The Premise

Subscriptions are usually a trap. This one is a parcel.

We are aware of how subscriptions work. You sign up for one enthusiastic evening, forget about it, and eleven months later discover you have funded someone's yacht in exchange for razor blades. The T-Shirt Club is not that. It is fifty dollars a month, one shirt a month, and a cancel button that cancels on the first press, prominently placed, no exit interview.

What you get for staying is the rotation. The black classic, the white classic, the sand vintage, the gray soft one, and along the way the club-only runs that never reach the shop at all. Members get first claim on limited editions before the rest of the world hears about them. That is the whole pitch. We told you it was simple.

The Box

Black, matte, and better than it needs to be.

Each shirt arrives folded in glassine inside a canvas-textured black box with a card noting which shirt it is and why we made it. People report keeping the boxes. We understand. They stack like they were designed for a shelf, because they were.

The Rotation

Four regulars, plus the ones we only make for members.

The core four cycle through the year, seasoned with club-only colorways and prints in short runs. When a run is gone it is gone, and the only people who own it are the people whose doorbells rang that month. We find this arrangement pleasingly old-fashioned, like a butcher who saves the good cut for regulars.

The Arithmetic

Twelve months in, you own a drawer with a point of view.

A year of membership is twelve shirts, several of which cannot be bought any other way, for less than most people spend on parts they never fit. Your t-shirt drawer stops being a graveyard of free conference shirts and becomes, dare we say it, a collection.

The Ritual

The best day of the month now arrives by post.

There is a small ceremony to it. The box on the step, the walk back up the drive, the unwrapping at the kitchen table with the coffee going cold. Members tell us they save the opening for the weekend. We neither confirm nor deny doing the same with our own test boxes.
